Cards and Gifts for your Valentine

Can you believe, it's almost Valentine's Day again?

Love it or hate it, there's no ignoring it.  Craft stores (Hobby Lobby, I'm talking about YOU) are filled with Valentine's themed items almost before the last of the Christmas turkey leftovers have been eaten.

So as we are now safely in January, I don't feel so bad posting some links to Valentine's related cards and gifts on Zazzle.

A few years ago I created a Valentine's card featuring these cute cartoon horses floating on a cloud of love hearts. It's been one of my most popular designs and this year, I decided to add this fridge magnet with the same design.

My second most popular Valentine's card design is this one. It's customizable, making it suitable for anyone to send.  You can change it to "to my husband" or "to our son" or add a name if you wish.

I'm a bit of a geek for soft, cuddly things (I have an embarrassingly large collection of stuffed animals at home).  So it's not surprising that I adore these cute little teddy bears with the customizable shirts available at  Zazzle.   The bears are available in three different sizes and the eyes and facial features are embroidered, so they are safe even for the smallest baby. Look at this cute little guy - don't you just want to hug him?

If your Valentine has a sweet tooth, why not tempt him or her with a jar of jelly beans? This one features a cute array of doodled love hearts in shades of pink can be filled with your choice of candy, from mints to pina colada Jelly Belly™candies.

The doodled love heart design is rather popular and is available on other items too, such as this mug. The design displays on both sides of the mug, so whether you are left or right handed, you can see the loving message.

As some of you may know, I create a lot of my designs in the 3D graphics program, DAZ 3D (hence the name of my blog and my original store - 3D Designs by Jayne).

The last of my items I am sharing here today is this nesting Lovers' Mug set featuring my 3D digital artwork "A Night on the Town",  I often get asked if it's a photograph, but it's not, it was created from scratch on my computer in DAZ 3D and then rendered and saved to a file format that can be printed or uploaded for use on sites like Zazzle.

The designers on Zazzle have certainly been busy creating Valentine's related designs.  I will share a few with you here.

This T-Shirt was an Editor's Pick when I was browsing through the site today.  I had to giggle a bit because I wondered what the ratio of customers is -- in other words how many women buy this shirt and give it to their husband for him to wear, versus how many men actually buy it for themselves?

 Perhaps I should get this one for myself?

Both the men's and women's T-shirts are available in a variety of styles, colors and fabrics, so you can always find exactly what you are looking for.

Moving on to cards - I like this one featuring  a patchwork of watercolor love hearts.  The pale green background complements the pink hearts perfectly.

This card is a win-win for me. I love cats (we have a house full of them) and I love the soft color and the puffy hearts.

Vintage, or retro designs are very popular with designers on Zazzle and this one, with a Victorian style  featuring Cupid and red roses is particularly attractive.

A New Year, a New Start

Here we are in 2020 and I realize it has been years since I posted in this blog!

But, rather than make excuses for my absence, I thought I would just pull myself together and start over.

The purpose of this blog is two-fold.  First I will be highlighting my own latest designs and artwork that I have created, and showing some of the items on which they are available in my Zazzle and FineArtAmerica stores.

And secondly, I would like to provide a showcase of the work of other artists and designers on #Zazzle by featuring some of their items here.

*******

I started the New Year the way I mean to go on by working on  some new art.  As some of you may know, I use the 3D graphics program DAZ 3D to create my art.  It's a program that allows you to create scenes on your computer, with a 3D environment, including figures, scenery, lighting much like a photographer would stage a photograph.  Then you take a virtual "photograph" of the scene and do the usual post work that any photographer does to create the final image.

Here's my first artwork of the new year, inspired by a card I received at Christmas.  I called it, surprise, surprise, "Dashing Through the Snow".

Once the image was post processed and ready, it was time to get to work adding it to my Zazzle store.

Naturally, the first thing I did was to add it to a wrapped canvas print. Zazzle's wrapped canvas prints are made from an additive-free cotton-poly blend, making them long lasting and fade resistant.

I also added it to posters and prints for framing, postcards and customizable greeting cards.

Then came the really fun part - adding the image to some of the quality products on Zazzle and posting them to my store.

I won't show them all here, or this post would be a mile long! But here are a few that I am especially happy with:

I love how the image looks on this throw pillow and can just picture it on a sofa beside a roaring fire in a cozy cabin somewhere.

Another item I think my artwork looks especially good on is this custom wall clock. Featured in two sizes, this wall clock is vibrantly printed with AcryliPrint®HD process to ensure the highest quality display.

*******

So that's it for my art today. Now it's time to feature some of the lovely work of other designers and artists on Zazzle. Since my latest artwork features horses in the snow, I've made that the theme of today's links.

I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles and this one featuring a family of appaloosa horses is especially nice. It's available in a variety of sizes, up to 20" x 30" - 1014 pieces, which I think would be quite challenging!

Postcards are a great and affordable way to collect and share art that you love.  This postcard features two bay horses, with white feathers on their legs and white blazes on their faces, galloping in the snow under a full moon.

Cross-body tote bags are very useful for carrying just about anything and this one features a cute photograph of two foals playing in the snow.

And finally, I've been a fan of the digital artist CWRW since I first got introduced to DAZ3D.  Laurie specializes in dramatic equine art and this poster is an excellent example of her work.

Now it's your turn!

Mother's Day -Matching Sets of Cards, Postage and Address Labels

Mother's Day in England is already behind us for the year, but in the U.S., it will be on Sunday, May 8th.

I've been working on some matching sets for Mother's Day, including greeting cards, address labels and postage stamps.

* * * *

The first features a hummingbird and fuchsia bloom that I photographed on our patio.  The background was very unappealing - the blank brick wall of my neighbor's house - so instead, I added a texture in a soft mint color.

* * * *

The next set features a digital artwork I created in the 3D graphics program Vue, entitled "Field of Bluebonnets".

* * * *

The photograph featured in this Mother's Day card was taken by my at Kalalau Lookout on the Na Pali Coast on the island of Kauai when my husband and I were on our honeymoon. We were so lucky to see this rainbow. Even as we stood taking photographs, the mists cleared and the rainbow disappeared! It was truly the photo of a lifetime!

* * * *

I enjoy working out in my back yard and am often trying out new plants to see what I can get to bloom. I loved this purple and lilac Aquilegia, or Columbine but alas it wasn't too happy in my garden and didn't last long.

When I made this card with my photo, it made me determined to try and grow some more this year! Such pretty blooms!

* * * *

There are some wonderful designers on Zazzle and I had fun browsing through the Mother's Day cards available.  I'm going to show you some of them here.

The first is this pretty watercolor floral Mother's Day card from 'origamiprints'. What I particularly like about the design is that you can replace the sample image with a photo of your own family, making it a very personal gift.

* * * *

Here is another design, that can be customized with your own photos, this one from 'DreamingMindCards'. Mom will really love this card when it features photos of her own children.

* * * *

I love this final card for it's simple message -- Moms can take the place of many people in our lives, friend, teacher, carer, confidante... but no-one can take the place of mom!

* * * *

I could continue, there are literally thousands of Mother's Day card designs but it's your turn now.

Gifts and Cards for your Valentine

Now we have officially got "the Holidays" out of the way, I've been adding some Valentine's related items to my Zazzle store.

My favorite new item has been this Couples Mug or Lovers' mug set, featuring a new digital artwork I created in DAZ3D that I titled "Night on the Town."  I was able to split the original artwork so that the man is on one mug, and the woman is on the other.

I only discovered recently that it is now possible to add chocolates to Zazzle mugs, turning them into a perfect gift!

I designed a number of sweet cards, including this puffy pink heart on a pale pink background with "To my Wife on Valentine's Day" greeting which is sure to be appreciated.

I really love the vintage appeal of this vintage illustration Victorian Happy Valentine's Day holiday floral design featuring traditional love and romance flowers. Antique ephemera with a beautiful bouquet of blooming crimson red roses in a gold basket just picked from the garden. Designed by Yesterday Cafe.

This box of delicious Belgian chocolates features a beautiful "Sea of Hearts" design by ZazzleHolidays, and you can customize it with the recipient's name or a message.

*****

These t-shirts are great, and will certainly make a statement when you head out together but I have to say it..... aren't they the wrong way round? Shouldn't HIS t-shirt say "SHE is my better half" and shouldn't HER t-shirt say "HE is my other half"?

Just kidding - I love them!

****

Not quite ready to commit to a long term relationship yet? No problem - there are lots of designs to let you tell it like it is.

****

Just want to give him or her a card? There's an endless choice, like this vintage cupid and pink roses design by Sandyspider.

Or perhaps this cute kitten -- with a demand for chocolate inside. (after all what else is Valentine's Day for?)

I could go on, but it's your turn now:

Ceramic Christmas Ornaments

Christmas is approaching, so I thought I would share some of my own ceramic ornaments, as well as those of the talented artists and designers on Zazzle.

A young foal thinks the snowman's carrot nose is an irresistible treat in my own original artwork, created in Bryce 3D.
This particular ornament is my most popular, featuring a gorgeous silver unicorn in a snowy winter scene.
